CALL FOR ENTRIES - The King & Queen of Las Vegas - GROUP ART SHOW 

Las Vegas, NV - Tuesday, March 12, 2024 - Arty’s Steakhouse, in collaboration with ReBAR + Davy’s, is pleased to announce a call for entries for its inaugural group art show, The King & Queen of Las Vegas. This multi-venue event aims to pay tribute to the 25-year mayoral run of Oscar and Carolyn Goodman as the city prepares for a new mayor to be elected in the upcoming general election.

Local artists from across Southern Nevada, regardless of experience level, are invited to submit original artwork that explores the theme of the King & Queen of Las Vegas. From paintings and sculptures to drawings and collages, all forms of wall art are welcome for consideration.

The inspiration behind the show comes from the rich and extravagant spirit of Las Vegas, a city known for its unique brand of American dream-making. Derek Stonebarger, owner of ReBAR, originally coined the term "The King and Queen of Las Vegas" in the Nevada Independent, reflecting on the illustrious mayoral career of Oscar and Carolyn Goodman. Their legacy includes significant contributions to the city's art and culture scene, notably the formation of the renowned Las Vegas Arts District.

The group art show will take place at ReBAR + Davy’s on Main Street throughout the month of June, coinciding with the Las Vegas primary election season. Arty’s Steakhouse, the title sponsor of the event, is offering a minimum $5000 purse to purchase original artwork for its Permanent Collection, to be displayed when the restaurant opens to the public in the future.

Participating artists will enjoy exclusive pre-opening invites to tastings and parties, along with a gift certificate for Arty’s Steakhouse and a ReBAR gift card upon submission of their first artwork.

"We are excited to invite both emerging and established artists to contribute to this celebration of Las Vegas culture," said Michelle Graves, Arty’s Artistic Curator. "The King & Queen of Las Vegas art show promises to be a showcase of creativity and talent, reflecting the vibrant artistic community of our one-of-a-kind city."

Submissions are due by Friday, May 31, 2024.
Once accepted, you will schedule a drop off time on or before Monday, June 3, 2024 at ReBAR, located at 1225 S. Main Street, Las Vegas, NV 89104.
